Let's Talk Length Check

So on September 2nd I went to this amazing salon called "Bliss Elements" it is a Green Salon located in Wilmington DE and they are fabulous! They colored, trimmed and straighten my hair. I felt very at home, they are very professional and friendly.

These pictures are taken after 2 and half weeks of getting it done. I meant to take pictures fresh out the salon but you know how life is. Nonetheless you can see the color change and drastic length increase. As you can see once again my hair is thicker and longer then last time.

After about a week or so I mainly wore my hair in protective styles. I also continued to style my hair in its natural styles since I did not want to apply any more heat to my hair. So I did twist outs and braid outs. They came out super cute. I was  very happy with my experience at the salon, I researched many salons to make sure if they were right for me and visited the ones I liked. I know many of use "Natural Girls" are scared to go to the salons but if you do you research and make sure they understand what you want, it will go just fine :)

Length Check - February 4th

Your probably saying FINALLY! February 4th (yes a week ago) I flat ironed my hair using the techniques I learned, they work! YES YES YES they work. My hair has NEVER felt this good when I flat ironed it. You can definitely see the growth, fullness, thickness increased AGAIN! Picture with yellow shirt is Feb 4th, picture below is previous length check. .

Length Check - April 17, 2010

Can you see the difference from February to April?

Length Check - Feb 5, 2010

So last week I announced my goals and decisions. One of you asked if I would post pictures so you guys could follow my progress. As you can see I found my first set of pictures. This is from February 5, 2010 I got my hair trimmed and I decided to start a my own personal NO HEAT Challenge. This was interesting experience, I say that because up to that point I had been flat ironing my hair like usual. So NO HEAT at all was a serious step. Honestly it was the first and most important step of embracing my texture and curls. Thanks to certain Youtubers and bloggers I was on a natural hair roll! I learned bantu knots, puffs, flexi rods, buns, detangling, hair products, styling....and so much more. Feb 5 was really a defining point in my natural hair experience. It was the day I decided not to burn my hair (sort of speak), the day I decided to pay more attention to it, nourish it, love it, the day I decided I would truly help it to grow.
*The only modifications I have made to this NO HEAT is that I may use heat as long as it is indirect heat. Honestly I just want to use the hooded dryer. Especially in the winter, wet hair out doors is a no no.
